Shipped with USPS in a padded envelope in an ESD bag and wrapped in aluminum foil.
Each wafer contains at least 1000mg of powdered monazite (high grade thorium ore) mixed into an acrylic wafer. Monazite contains 3.5-10% thorium dioxide and emits alpha particles and undergoes (beta and/or gamma decay).
Other ingredients: 1.8g acrylic epoxy plus 200mg strontium aluminate (for UV reactivity and glow effect.) This item does not glow naturally due to decay.
The 1000mg wafer weighs 3.g and is 2x1 inches and less than 1/4 inch thick.
When this sample is placed within 1/4 inch of the if the geiger tube as shown in the picture, it will produce a count above 300CPM.
The color may vary slightly but they all will react to UV light.
