    "...Chester County Historical Society in West Chester, Pennsylvania...one of three original counties set up by William Penn in 1682...extensive collection of cross stitch samplers, with the majority being from Pennsylvania...samplers date from 1772 to 1846 and the ages of the stitchers, where noted, range from 7 years to 16 years.
