This is a real (studio?) photograph of Mabel Sarah Heath Palmer. She married B.J. Palmer, the “developer” of chiropractic, in 1904. After graduating from Palmer College, Davenport, she studied anatomy, wrote a textbook on the subject, and taught anatomy at Palmer for more than 35 years. She is widely known as the “First Lady of Chiropractic.”This postcard, from the early 1900s, is in very good condition. A rare find, this card is suitable for framing. Image area is approximately 3” by 5”: the actual size of the card is approximately 3.5” by 5.5”.
