Here we have a
Vintage 1955 GEORGE TIEMANN, NY Surgical Skull Cranium Bone Drill or Brace.
This is a NOS ( New Old Stock) surgical instrument  These chrome-plated hand surgical instruments were the norm in 1955 before moving to electrically powered drills.  The original fully labelled box is in good condition with no tears or damage.  It has a cardboard liner and tissue paper wrapping for the instrument.  Brace is in great 'unused' condition and comes with one bit.  Handle of brace is labelled TIEMANN.  Shaft of bit is labelled SKLAR-CHROME USA.  Brace is 9" L without the bit.  Box is 9-3/4" x 4-3/4" x 1-3/4".
