Vintage  Japan  Ceramic Beer Stein   With Raised Scenes of Couple Sitting Outside + Castle + Trees
This is a Japan ceramic beer stein.   It was on display for a while and has been in storage for many years.   The stein is in great condition – no chips or cracks, but there are manufacturing imperfections and defects from age and handling and crazing.
The stein is multi-colored and has a dotted blue background.   The raised scenes depicted on the stein include a woman and a man sitting outside on one half and a castle on the other half with trees dividing the halves.   Imprinted on the bottom of the stein, in black, is “Japan”.
Although the stein is in great condition, there are some defects which may be from handling, storage, or as manufactured:
There is crazing on the outside and inside surfaces.
On the inside, near the top, are blue marks embedded in the glaze.
On the base there are dark marks along the entire outside ground rim.
There are some tiny holes and bumps scattered on the stein.
There are small areas of missing or inaccurate color.

The outside dimensions of the stein are about:
5  5/16  inches from the base to the top.
3  1/8  inches across the top rim.
3   15/16  inches across the base
5  1/8 inches side to side, at the widest part, including the handle.
2  1/4 inches, vertically, at the tallest part of the handle opening.
