    Here we have a
    Vintage ZIMMER, WARSAW, IN, Surgeon's Heavy Duty Bone Drill.
    Zimmer & Co. is medical device company which was founded in 1927 to produce aluminum splints. The firm is headquartered in Warsaw, Indiana.  Zimmer designs, develops, manufactures and markets orthopaedics products, including knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, foot and ankle artificial joints and dental prostheses.  They also made surgeon's instruments to assist in the fitting of their products to patients.  This appears to be a chrome or nickel-plated instrument and you can see that some of the original plating is flaking off of the handle.  The drill
    appears
    to be in working condition but I have not verified all of the functions.  Drill is 16" long and has an extendable bit guide that pulls out another 4-1/2".
    Good piece to add to a medical collection
